BAL Orioles ML -120
I like this spot for Tyler Wells on the mound for Baltimore. He's done well this year not giving up walks and he is giving up a phenomenal .189 BABIP. Wells is striking out batters at a 30% rate over his last 5 starts.
TB Rays ML -210
The Rays are the better team here. After finally picking up a win last night following losing the first two games of the series, I would expect the Rays to handle business tonight to get a split. The Rays offense has cooled off over the last 5 games. But they'll be facing Paul Blackburn today, making only his 4th start of the season.
DET Tigers/MIN Twins NRFI -140
Matthew Boyd (DET): 10-3 (77%) NRFI overall this season, 5-1 (83%) NRFI on the road.
Sonny Gray (MIN): 12-1 (92%) NRFI overall this season, 7-0 (100%) NRFI at home.
DET Tigers: 49-17 (74%) overall, 27-6 (82%) on the road, 8-2 in last 10
MIN Twins: 50-16 (76%) overall, 24-9 (73%) at home, 8-2 in last 10
TEX Rangers ML -135
Yes, I am betting against Shohei Ohtani on the mound. The dual-position phenom started the year strong. But he has struggled with his control lately. Over his last 5 starts, Ohtani is averaging over 3 walks per start, a 12.9% walk rate. If this continues today against a patient Rangers lineup, it could be a short outing on the mound for Ohtani.
HOU Astros ML -190
Another matchup where one team has virtually every advantage across the board. The Washington Nationals offense is bad. It's the worst offense in the MLB across the last 5 games. While the Astros offense is riddled with injuries, they will be facing Mackenzie Gore today. Gore has gotten hit hard as of late. Over his last 5 starts, Gore is giving up over 1 HR per start and has allowed a SLG% of .532. I like the Astros to pick up their 3rd win in a row.
CLE Guardians ML +110
I am going against a struggling Ryan Weathers taking the mound for the Padres today. Weathers has only pitched 20 1/3 innings across his last 5 starts, allowing more than 3 runs per start. In his last 5 starts, opposing hitters are hitting .329 with an OBP of .402 and a SLG% of .573. This is a good value spot for the Guardians to pick up a win over the Padres.
