NY Rangers -1.5 (+145)

The New York Rangers are ready to take on the Washington Capitals, and with their impressive record at home and talented roster, they’re a great bet for success.

The Blueshirts have won six of their last eight games and have an impressive 9-4-0 record in their last 13 home games. Since December 5th, they have earned an outstanding 26-9-5 record for 57 points, ranking them third in wins and points percentage in the NHL.

If you’re looking for an edge, the Rangers have been especially successful when scoring first, boasting a 24-5-4 record, and 18-3-3 when leading after the second period. They’ve also shown an impressive ability to come from behind, with 19 comeback wins and eight of those in the third period, the second most in franchise history.

The Rangers have a number of talented players to thank for their success. Filip Chytil is one goal away from joining Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad, and Chris Kreider in the 20-goal scorers club this season, and Adam Fox is just one assist away from his second career 50-assist season. The Rangers defensemen group has collected 156 points, the sixth most in the NHL, and Mika Zibanejad leads all Rangers with 14 third period goals.

Plus, Artemi Panarin has recorded eight points in his last seven games, including two multi-point efforts, and since 2019-20, has the fifth most multi-point games in the NHL. Mika Zibanejad has 118 points (57G-61A) in 146 games played in the month of March, and has 18 points in last 17 games (10G-8A). Vincent Trocheck has six points in his last seven games (2G-4A).

Finally, the Rangers own a 62-13-4 record when Mika Zibanejad, Artemi Panarin, and Chris Kreider all record a point. With all that to offer, the Rangers have the edge to beat the spread and make you a winner.

VEG Golden Knights -1.5 (+130)

Are you looking for a value added sports bet? Put your money on the Vegas Golden Knights! Their Pythagorean /- (goals for per game divided by goals against per game) of 1.67 is a great indicator that they have the ability to cover the spread, which is currently set at -1.5.

The Golden Knights have been a consistent team all season long. Marc-Andre Fleury is backstopping the defense, which is one of the best in the NHL, allowing the second-fewest shots per game. On the offensive end, Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone have been leading the charge, combining for an impressive 74 points.

The Flyers have had an up-and-down season, with injuries and inconsistent goaltending plaguing their performance. Their Pythagorean /- is 0.94.

Bottom line? I'm backing the Golden Knights. With Fleury playing at the top of his game and their stars firing on all cylinders, the Golden Knights are poised to cover the spread and secure a victory.

MTL Canadiens +1.5 (+120)

If you're looking to get in on the action and bet on the Montreal Canadiens to cover the spread against the Pittsburgh Penguins, you've come to the right place. Despite their recent struggles, the Habs have a solid Pythagorean expectation that suggests they have a good chance of coming out on top.

The Penguins have been on a roll recently, with a 7-1-1 record in their last nine games and a 3-2 overtime win against the Rangers on Sunday. Pittsburgh is hoping their current momentum will carry them to a win against the Canadiens, but Montreal could surprise everyone and pull off a victory.

The Canadiens have an impressive Pythagorean expectation that suggests they have a good chance of covering the spread. Montreal have scored 180 goals this season, and are +4 goals for/against in their last seven games, with a higher goals for percentage than their opponents, suggesting the Canadiens are better than their current record indicates.

In addition, Montreal forward Rem Pitlick left in the first period of the Monday game after going into the end boards awkwardly, but Habs coach Martin St. Louis said Pitlick would travel to Pittsburgh and could be a game-changer for the Canadiens. On the other hand, Pittsburgh winger Jason Zucker has been a catalyst lately, with nine total goals over the past eight games, but Bryan Rust's comments that "when you're playing well, working hard, making things happen, you get a couple (fortuitous) bounces" could mean that the Penguins' recent run of success could soon come to an end.

With all these factors in play, betting on the Montreal Canadiens to cover the spread against the Pittsburgh Penguins is definitely worth considering. The Habs have the Pythagorean expectation needed to pull off an upset, and if Rem Pitlick can make a return, they could be even more dangerous.

CGY Flames -1.5 (-110)

The Calgary Flames are set to take on the Arizona Coyotes in a highly anticipated NHL match-up on March 14th, 2023 at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona. With a record of 16-10-5 and a strong Pythagorean record, the Flames are the favorites to cover the spread of -1.5.

The Flames have been victorious in 11 of their 13 matchups against the Coyotes since the start of the 2018-19 season. They have also won the last seven in a row, making it the Flames' longest active win streak against a single team and their longest since they took eight straight against New Jersey from February 2017 to March 2022.

The Flames have found success when shooting at least 35.5 shots on goal, as they stand at 16-10-5 when doing so this season. Calgary ranks second in the NHL in shots per game, while Arizona has allowed the second most shots on goal per game (35.8).

Elias Lindholm has been a strong performer against Arizona, with 21 points (7 goals, 14 assists) in 21 career games against the Coyotes. He has scored a goal in each of his last five games against the Coyotes, a feat that has helped the Flames to their impressive win streak.

Goaltender Jacob Markstrom has also been instrumental in Calgary's success this season, with a .895 save percentage. In six starts this month, he has a .936 save percentage and 1.99 GAA, making him a reliable presence in the net for the Flames.

The Coyotes have been strong in their last few games, with victories in three of their last four and at least four goals scored in four of the last five. Clayton Keller has been especially impressive, scoring two goals including the overtime winner against Minnesota on Sunday. He has 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) in 16 games since February 10, second only to Connor McDavid in that span.

The Flames have the advantage in this game and should have little trouble covering the spread. With their strong Pythagorean record, their dominance over Arizona, their success shooting the puck, and their reliable goaltending, sports bettors can feel confident in placing their bets on the Flames to win.
